Allison Olson is the principal of Lakeview Alternative High School, which opened in the 2019–2020 school year. Before this role, she taught secondary English at Lakeview High School. With a Master’s degree in K–12 Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University, Mrs. Olson is committed to servant leadership and advocating for all students, especially those who need a second chance to succeed. She works to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can grow academically, socially, and personally. Mrs. Olson warmly welcomes every student to the program and is dedicated to helping each one reach their full potential.

Mrs. Bishop is the Secretary for the Alternative Education Program. She supports the daily operations of the program and works closely with students, families, and staff to help things run smoothly. Her steady presence helps create a welcoming environment where students feel supported in their progress, no matter where they are on their path toward graduation.

With over 31 years of dedicated service in public education, Kimberly Carroll has built a career defined by commitment, compassion, and excellence. As a former middle school classroom teacher, volleyball and basketball coach, and currently serving as a mentor teacher, and graduation coach with Lakeview Alternative High School, she has guided countless students toward achieving their personal and academic goals. Kimberly is recognized for her ability to inspire both students and colleagues through her patience, encouragement, and unwavering belief in the potential of every learner.

Serving in her second year as a graduation coach with LAHS School, Kimberly has played a pivotal role in helping students overcome barriers, stay focused, and celebrate the achievement of earning their diplomas. Mrs. Carroll was awarded the Kellogg Community College, Russ Bortell Memorial Award, for the 2024-2025 school year which is granted to the school counselor or employee who has shown exceptional dedication and service to their students for many years. 

Throughout her career, Kimberly has remained committed to making education not just a pathway to knowledge, but also a source of empowerment. Her legacy is one of service, mentorship, and the profound impact she has had on the lives of those she has taught and supported.

Kim Roy is a proud Lakeview graduate who earned her bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University (Go Green!) and a master’s from Western Michigan University. She is a retired educator with 33 years of experience in Battle Creek Public Schools, primarily working as a special education teacher supporting students in academics, behavior, and individualized learning from K–8.

After retiring in 2020, Kim realized how much she missed working with students and has discovered a new passion in supporting high school students striving to earn their diploma. While she describes herself as “old school” and not very tech-savvy, she embraces the challenge and enjoys learning new skills—often with the help of her students!

Kim is committed to providing a safe, encouraging, and supportive environment for all students. Her door is always open to students, parents, and colleagues. She looks forward to celebrating student success as part of the team at the graduation ceremony in May.

With over 41 years in education, Cork Baker has served as a teacher, coach, and administrator in both Battle Creek Public Schools and Lakeview Schools. He taught at the elementary and middle school level, then served as an assistant principal at Northwestern Middle School and Lakeview Middle School. Cork has also coached swimming for decades, including as head women's swim coach at Battle Creek Central.  He currently works at Lakeview Alternative High School and teaches with the Lakeview Swim Club. 

John Ganton is currently in his second year as a Teacher/Mentor at Lakeview Alternative Education, where he provides guidance and support to students. Prior to this role, he retired after a fulfilling 29-year career as a Science and P.E. teacher at Lakeview Middle School. During his time at Lakeview Middle School, John was also an active coach, leading the Football and Basketball teams for 13 years.

Outside of his teaching career, John is passionate about farming and manages a 600-acre farm. In his downtime, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, kids, and grandkids, Avery and Holland. John's extensive experience in education, coaching, and farming makes him a well-rounded mentor, dedicated to positively impacting the lives of those around him.
